More about the Special Topics Steward (Multiple Roles)

Hours per Week: at least 1

(There are as many roles to fill as there are areas of interest among CMMC membership)

• A Special Topic Steward maintains overview of an area of interest within the CMMC (e.g. machine learning, data repositories, microcarrier design, etc) and keeps the community informed about recent developments

• Besides expertise in a particular area, a special topics steward puts energy into convening other experts with the goal of creating sub-communities within the CMMC, dedicated to championing a particular topic area and building the potential for collaboration across topic areas. We believe novel solutions to the cultivated meat field will come from blending methodologies and theories (for example, the ongoing work to combine agent-based and computational fluid dynamics models).

• Convenes conversations and presentations within the CMMC among members with related topical interests

• Example topics: 

  • Machine learning

  • Data repositories

  • Microcarrier Design

  • Survey Topic Areas

  • Cheesecake (yum!)

• What will you do as a special topics steward? 

  • Advise CMMC projects from your expertise

  • Enroll and convene additional experts in a body to advise and develop CMMC capabilities

  • On an occasional basis, present relevant developments in the area of interest to the CMMC

  • Contribute to CMMC research repositories
